About Paving Stones: Paving stones is a general term for describing material used for the application of paving a floor indicating an outdoor pavement. Paving stones can be made of concrete pavers, brick pavers, and many other natural stone pavers such granite, travertine, bluestones, sandstone, lime stone and marble. The type of pavers you choose determines cost of materials and installation because they differ in application, design, technical standards and more. Pavers are a practical yet attractive option anywhere on the property and also stand up to harsh weather better than poured concrete, stamped concrete or asphalt. Pavers are much higher density than poured concrete or asphalt and the interlocking technology has greater load bearing capacity. Pavers have the advantage of being flexible and allow for movement because pavers have joints that can expand and contract when the ground freezes, also withstand the high heat of summer. The joints serve to relieve pressure and that will not crack as poured concrete slabs or wreck asphalt frequently do. Pavers are virtually maintenance-free and do not need to be regularly sealed or replaced. Driveway pavers If a repair ever does become necessary, stained or broken pavers can be easily replaced without ugly patches. Concrete Pavers: Are made of cement, aggregate, pigments and dyes. Concrete pavers are available in a wide variety of sizes, textures and colors. Color sealants may also be used to prevent concrete pavers from losing their color. Concrete pavers cost less than clay paver and Stone Pavers because the raw materials cost less to produce. Brick Pavers: Are also called clay pavers.Brick pavers are made from clay and shale materials and cost slightly more than concrete pavers due to their higher material cost and manufacturing process. These raw materials are baked at up to two thousand degrees at the manufacturing plant. Brick paver have their own natural properties that make them ideal for producing hard wearing and extra strong brick paver products. Brick paver colors have a deepness and warmth because they contain the natural color of the clay and shale materials and will maintain their true color for a very long time. Brick paver does not has the extensive color variety offered by concrete pavers. The colors of the brick paver are earthy, from light, moderate and darker red tones. Stone Pavers: Are made by mother nature over millions of years of natural formation and are extracted from the earth at stone quarries. They are not made at the manufacturing plant. Stone pavers are undeniable for adding natural beauty. They enhance your home surroundings and landscaped gardens. There is a wide selection of charming colors, shapes and patterns for you to choose from. Stone pavers are more expensive because they have to be mined from the earth at stone quarries and thus will be higher priced than brick and concrete pavers. Stone pavers have limited applications due to their hardness, strength and density issues. Example, granite stone pavers are strong enough for driveway paving, whereas blue stone pavers would not be strong enough for driveway but patio, pool deck and sidewalk applications.
